Is it mandatory to deposit amount for GIC in a week ?

My consultant told me once I open my GIC account with Scotia Bank.

I need to deposit amount for (CAD 10,000) within a week in my account.

Is it necessary to deposit the amount within a week , can we deposit it 15 days period ?

If you are applying for fall 13 batch, then you can transfer amount on or before 26th july. It's mentioned on 1st page of Application Guide.

Don't follow consultant. Do your own research. Consultants are dumb.

I was little worried since it takes almost half a month to open the GIC account..
And to deposit the amount within a week was too much demanding since my bank loan
must be under processing at that time.

It takes just 3-4 working days to open GIC account. Once you send them filled application form, you will get details in 3-4 days.

I got admission in Western Ontario Uni, London. It is not enlisted in ACCC list. Still if i go for the GIC, would it be beneficial for me during visa process?

Yes. You can go for GIC. It's preferred and recommended but not compulsory, but surely to give positive effect to you file.

Sent my GIC application on 8th June,2013 and still haven't received yet. I did a mistake. I put the date on the form of 15th may,2013 and sent it on 8th June,2013. What will happen now? Will my GIC be rejected or it will take a lot of time ?
