Chances are they may never find out but what if for any other reason you receive RQ and you need to state all addresses you lived at with proves ? what's the proof that you still live in the old address?
I agree to what you mean. But think, if the address was changed after application was submitted then even if the person gets RQ, CIC will ask info till application signing date not after that.
Yes, it can certainly be a problem if address was changed before application was submitted and if the person gets RQ then it may cause issues.
The wise thing is to always update address info with CIC.
