Hello,

My profile is :

10th 80.40%
12th 81.83 %
BE Civil : 64.37%
IELTS 7 bands, with no band less than 6.5
Work Exp : 2.5 years of IT exp (no civil exp)

I was looking for some masters course in Civil Engineering in Canadian University.

Can someone please help me know what are my chances considering I do not have Civil related work exp.

P.S : I have an admit from Centennial for Project Management, I am planning to take a chance with the universities as well.

Thanks.

i think you can get into average universities like U of Regina, etc. but definitely try for admission...you have nothing to loose, except for $100 or so application fees per university.

I don't think work experience even matters from the point of view of getting admission for a masters program at a university. Although, its a different story if work ex is a prerequisite for a program like MBA, etc ( I don't know if engineering masters program require relevant work ex). That said, you will have to show work ex to cover gap while applying for a visa to embassy/consulate.

Comparitively getting admissions to Canada and Australia is much much quicker, simpler and easier compared to USA and UK :)

There are only two UNIS that give from $6k to $8k per year for Internationl Students. Newfoundland memorial UNI and Brandon UNi. These are cheap but not that gud. If you want a gud university and cheap one then best one is UNI of Manitoba has gr8 past in research and is in top 300 UNIS in world with 12.5k$ per year. :)

Bro I am sorry but the truth is ur profile is not that gud,, all Canadian universities require at least 2.8 cgpa or 70% in undergraduate for masters,, and of course u will require to go through GRE,, I recommend u to go through GRE first if u get good marks in GRE then there is a little chance,, bro I don't want to discourage u but I don't want to lie either,, good luck,, and yeah I am quite sure that there is no university whose fees is 6k per year for international students it is at least 10k to 12k,,

We can provide you with some tuition numbers by email that may be of assistance:

• A three credit hour course in the Faculty of Science for international students totals $840.60. This includes tuition and all student fees.

• Fifteen (15) credit hours would total $$3,767.40.

• Thirty (30) credit hours would total $7,733.25.

For information on applying to Brandon University, please visit the Perspective Students page on our website http://www.brandonu.ca/prospective-students/ or contact the Admissions Office at admissions@brandonu.ca.

For tuition fee information for the 2013/14 regular session please see the link below:
