Is it allowed to use a more appropriate job title on the employment letter?

Hello guys:

I'm an applicant for CEC, and my job title on the CONTRACT is "QA Engineer", but actually the actual job I do is just software tester, so just wonder is it ALLOWED/LEGAL for me to ask my supervisor to change the job title on my employment letter to something like "Software test technician"? As "QA Engineer" is an example title under another group, Thanks!

The qa comes under NOC a and the software tester comes under NOC b.... However both the duties are 95%same.... It just depends on what IELTS score received....

Thanks for the reply guys, but "QA Engineer" is actually under 2141, which is completely different from what I do, that's why I want to change the title on the employment letter, I'm just wondering if this will be treated as "Misrepresentation"...

It totally could.

Are you on a closed work permit?

The title doesn't really matter. What matters are that the duties on your ref. letter match that of the appropriate noc. As long as the duties match, I wouldn't lie about job title. It will not help.
