Dear Future and present canadians !!

Me and my wife made a short landing past august and got our Pr's . We are currently living at our country of origion as I have work obligation and wont be moving to canada until after 2 years from now ...

we are expecting a baby next september and we decided that my wife go to canada to bring the baby .

This is my wife first pregnancy and we are trying to bring my mom and dad to help us and give my wife psychological support ....... ..

so we are in the process of applying for a visit visa for them.but i really dont know what is the best thing i write in the ( reason of visit ) Huh

is it a good idea to write an invitation letter for them ( though we are currently not living in canada !!!!!) as we plan to go there just three month before pregnancy ??

or is it better to apply for a totally different reason like signing up for a confereence ( they are university teachers ) and after attend the conference they could join us

I'm really worried if i mention in their visa application that their son is a PR they may get refused ...

please helpi

To begin with you can provide the letter of invitation but it probably won't be accepted because you are not living in Canada. Secondly it will depend on what type of visa are you applying.. Since you are not living or working in Canada I suppose SuperVisa is out of question leaving only Visitor visa.

Coming to the conference point, if your parents are caught lying on your application they will be either denied visa or banned for 5 years altogether.

Coming to you being their son and PR, they already know that you are their son and you are PR. Remember the Family information forms you filled. This will definitely result in 5 year misrepresentation ban when caught.

After all this is the part about your wife's pregnancy. Depending on which province you live in, you won't have medical coverage for the first three months which means you pay from your pocket. Regular delivery can go around $10000 and with complications even a million $$. So be prepared for that part. Since she is already pregnant, getting insurance for her is going to be hard. Some provinces like Alberta provide medical benefits right away but that would require you to stay in the province for more than 180 days else when caught, they will bill you.

Hope this helps you.

Thanks freidn for this information .

Actually we would be landing in edmonton and my wife would stay for 6 months , so there is no problem with that part ....

so do you recommend i dont do an invitation letter for them ....should they just apply for visit visa and mention that they want to be with us during the birth of our child which is our first and their first grandson ..

My parents dont intend to stay in canada as they are both university professors and are well established back home , they want to stay with us for a couple of weeks only ......even money wise they can support themselves very well , but i dont know why everybody in the form is recommending i do an invitation letter and mention that i would coveer them financially !

I can show my bank account in canada which i already moved my savings to , but would this be practical if i still dont have a work there ?

when they would be applying for the visa , my wife would be living in canada , but i would be still in my coutry of origion ........

if any body have an experience with that , i would be really grateful

The problem I'd have from immigration's perspective is that if the support of the folks is needed, why give birth in Canada when nobody's there right now?

I would think you'd want to wait until she's there and then she invites her folks. She can't get there at the last minute anyway.

Thanks Friend

I will for sure do your advise and wait for my wife to be in canada before we invite my parents , unfortunately my wife parents cant afford to go to canada for now ...

do you think it make send if i write a letter of invitation while i'm still not in canada ...

or would it be better that my parents just mention that they are attending their grandchild birth and show the funds required to support themselves without doing the invitation letter from my side ?
