Is IELTS test required for semi skilled visa for Canada

Hi there,
I wanted to know if IELTS test is required for Canada for semi skilled visa,I am waiting for LMO as my agent told me that it would take 7 to 8 weeks,I dont trust my agent anymore as things are upside down,please write to me what should I do.
