Wrong place for question related to University rules.
For PR one need to take
General IELTS exam, Universities consider only
Academic IELTS exam.
IELTS has validity period too, If I am correct than it's 2 year for University.
If you have taken Academic IELTS exam with in last 2 year then you might not need to take IELTS.
Still it all depend on (University's) institution's rule.
