Hi everyone,
I've been searching and reading the CIC website, but I haven't found the answer to this question yet. Is the IEC an international agreement?
I'm currently holding a working visa under that program, and I'm thinking of applying for the FSW.
I'm very interested on this because if you're working under that program, a LMO isn't necessary.
This
CIC notice states: "There is one exception. An LMO will not be required if the offer of arranged employment is made to an individual who:
- is already working in Canada with a valid work permit issued under a federal-provincial agreement or an international agreement (other than an agreement regarding seasonal agricultural workers)"
So here's where my doubt comes up. What's an international agreement? Because if you guys CTRL + F on this archived CIC notice
you'll find two results: "international agreements such as NAFTA and GATS" and "international agreements (e.g. International Experience Canada)". The first one is related to the FSW program and the second one to the CEC program.
But as far as I understand, all three (NAFTA, GATS and IEC) are international agreements.
So what's your opinion about this guys?
Thanks a lot. (sorry about the code sections, I can't post links...)
