I'm talking about translating letters from employers to prove work history and other supportive documents.
In 2016 in the article here https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/canadian-citizenship/admininistration/general-file-processing/applications-translation-documents.html it stated that unless the translator is certified and from Canada , you need to also provide an affidavit.
However, in 2020 there's this program delivery update: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/updates/2020-translation.html with these new instructions: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/refugee-protection/removal-risk-assessment/translation.html
This states pretty much that if the translator is accredited, even if outside of Canada, there are no additional steps steps you have to take (affidativ), unless the documents are translated by a non-certified translator
So, do I understand this correctly that for documents such as employment letter, a straightforward translation from an CERTIFIED translator OUTSIDE of Canada is enough? No more affidavit stuff?
