Is ECA mandatory before submitting the Profile to IRCC.

My ECA is taking more time, I am planning to submit my profile to IRCC and then obtain ECA later. Does anyone know if it is acceptable if I claim my education while submitting my profile to IRCC but I do not provide the ECA reference number in the first application. Would IRCC give me education points and allow me to submit ECA after ITA. Can you please share your experience. Any information is appreciated.

An ECA is mandatory as you can’t even set up a profile without one. You will not be given points without one.

It accepts the profile When I setup a profile and select the education with no ECA reference number. I do not know if it deducts the points in case I do not provide ECA reference number.
