Is customer service considered relevant job experience?

I have a university degree in Finance from a Canadian School but I was not able to find a finance related job so I ended up doing retention work for a major communications company. Can Canadian experiences class application be rejected if you dont have relevant job experience? does customer service or customer retention count?

Is the NOC code 6552? I think it's NOC C.... you need NOC 0,A,B work experience to apply for CEC

I think it really doesnt matter what your position is called as long as the job description as detailed on the employer reference letter matches with the description of the NOC code you are applying under AND the NOC code should be 0, A or B.

I dont think you should get fixated on the name. It need not be representative of your job just like your user handle.....are you a giant? or a midget? it all depends on how you describe your height....... :p.......sorry, couldnt help myself. But I think you get my drift.

CIC agents will be able to spot "embellishments," so I disagree with the above post. Sorry to say, customer service experience generally will be considered as Skill Level C and not count towards CEC requirements. If you were a supervisor or manager, that would be different, that would be considered skilled.
