Hello,

I am an IT Professional having completed my 4 year BS (Computer Science) degree from Karachi Pakistan back in 2003. Currently I am working as Project Director in a Public Sector Organization. I have 10 years of experience in IT. My wife is a doctor. I had previously applied for Canadian Immigration and initially I was told my application was accepted but then 3 years later I was informed that they only gave me 65 points so my application was rejected.

I saw this new criteria and I think now I can easily get around 70 points. Only problem being I do not see my profession in the NOC Major Groups. I would really appreciate if anyone can guide me where to start and when does the immigration for IT Professional re-opens (tentative dates) so that I can restart my efforts like getting my degree verified and retake the IELTS Test.

Thank You

Dear, there were only two NOC's related to IT professionals 2174 computer programmer and interatctive media developers and 2147 Computer Engineers, but unfortunately they are already filled as per new CIC rules they only accept 300 applications per NOC and these are filled.

check this link for further research http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/complete-applications.asp

however, you will have to wait for FSWP 2014, there are news that CIC does not intend to start FSWP in 2014 but in 2015 with a new system that is called EOI similar to australia. hope this will suffice.
