Is birth certificate necessary?

I am a Mexican citizen applying for express entry CEC. Is a birth certificate needed? I was told by my lawyer it is needed, and needs to be translated but I keep finding conflicting answers online…… of course more money I have to pay for the translation …

If the document checklist you were given says to submit birth certificate then you must. There is nothing to be confused about. If it is not in English you will have to get it translated.
