Is Birth certificate necessary for PR?

I have birth certificate in punjabi without name. And municipal corporation punjab doesn't have any record of my d.o.b in their papers. So i wanna ask will i definitely have to make a birth certificate in English with name? I searched cic sites and they say that u can use ur 10th certificate also. I confirmed from many places but no one is sure. Does anyone have some experienced suggestion in this matter?

Wrong forum. Nonetheless, 10th grade certificate suffices in lieu of birth certificate.
