Is age really the main factor for working as an LPN in Canada?

I have been an LPN in the USA for over 30 years and have extensive experience in all areas. I had messaged Canadian agencies in the last year and the first thing they comment on is my age. I am 59, but a fit, work hard and work circles around nurses much younger than I am. I am not bringing children or any family. I know testing is needed, which is BS, but I get it. Is this the trend in Canada, this ageism? This isn't about the election, this has been a goal for some time now. There is a lot of information out there, but wondering if anyone knows firsthand.

Does anyone know of reputable organizations that are worth looking into? Thank you.

Your goal for some time now? Why not sooner when you were 40? At 59, shouldn't you be thinking of retirement?

You will not even be eligible for Express Entry. Not due to just age but education and language. What is your Express Entry selection score? Are you fluent in English and French? Immigration is based on age, education (ECA), language IIELTS), work experience and funds.

You also need to look at licensing as LPN.

As for age, in Canada for many retirement is between 60-65. Do you have considerable savings to retire as you would not be eligible for government program.

How long have you been considering this?

As you’re getting closer to retirement, you’d be benefit negative .
You’d be accessing more of the social programs , healthcare etc than what you’d have paid into them during your working years . You’d have paid those taxes that support programs to the USA, not Canada .
Ageism ? Countries get to choose who is allowed to immigrate. Age wise . Health wise. Skill wise .
Countries want younger workers . Australia for example has a age cap of 45 except for extremely skilled jobs
It’s all about demographics
Your move should have happened ages ago .
Btw if it was the reverse and a Canadian wanted to move as a LPN to the USA . The chances would be literally non existent. American immigration is FAR more stringent than Canada’s

And as mentioned in regards to having the finances backing to retire . You would have literally zero access to CPP, OAS. You wouldn’t have enough working years contributions
