Is additional income besides a closed work permit allowed?

Hi, I have a closed work permit bound to a specific employer as a software engineer. I wrote a mobile app and consider to sell it for a few dollars. Would I be allowed to do that, or do I have to give it out for free only? Technically I am not working for another employer, neither it is a different domain. Do you know if I am allowed to do that? Yes, you can do that. It is not "employment" and would not impact the Canadian labour market.. You DO have to pay taxes on any income however.
