Just out of curiosity, is a judge required to hold a citizenship ceremony?

If yes, since 10 new judges were recently appointment, which make the number of judges nearly quadrupled, does it mean we are expecting short wait time to the oath?
Another thing is: if a judge is required, how could they find so many judges that can hold tens of ceremonies in parallel on Canada Day?

Presiding Official
The Presiding Official of a swearing-in ceremony may be a Citizenship Judge, or a Volunteer Presiding Official (i.e. member of the Order of Canada, recipient of the Order of Military Merit, etc.) provided they are authorized by the Registrar of Canadian Citizenship and they have volunteered to participate. The Governor General, Lieutenants-Governor and Commissioners of the Territories may also be invited to preside at citizenship ceremonies.

Based on the information above, I don't understand why CIC does not encourage more Volunteers (Presiding Official) to host or administer more ceremonies as a community service. Once you get DM, you should be scheduled and able to take the oath within 90 days maximum.

They still need to give test and DM first ...
