I came to Canada from US in January and would like to have my parents come visit me and my wife. We are both on work permits and my parents have visitor's visa issued 2 years ago. I don't have enough vacation days to make a trip back home and I haven't met my parents, who are both retired btw, since Sept 2019. My parents need the IRCC authorization letter but IRCC has rejected stating that reasons for travel are non-discretionary or non-optional. I went through the questionnaire online:

I would like to take care of them since they are alone but my work is also important and my employer won't allow to work from overseas. How can I demonstrate that the reason for travel is not optional? Can someone share if you were able to get the authorization letter successfully from IRCC.
