hello everyone,

There happens to be a separate thread with discussion on IQAS evaluation timelines but I also noticed quite a few other discussions on how IQAS stopped evaluating SMU degree’s.

I have also sent across my degree’s for evaluation for my Masters thru Distance Education and awaiting feedback.

Lets share the success stories on IQAS ECA evaluation here and keep everyone else posted.

My timelines and status is as follows;

Degree - MBA
Education - 2010 - 2012
Centre - Delhi

IQAS Documents delivered - 27 Sep 18
IQAS AOR2 - 13 Nov 18
Current status - in line for processing

I hope you didn't mention your study centre as "Delhi". If yes, unfortunately your ECA report will not be processed.

hi amyth you will receive a mail from iqas regarding your study center like i received it which would look as follows

While reviewing your documents I noticed that you completed your Bachelor of Computer Applications program through distance education. Please provide the name and address of the campus/learning center where you completed your Bachelors’ program.

to which if you reply your study center is delhi you will recieve a mail like this

Thank you for submitting your educational documents for evaluation to the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS).

IQAS cannot complete an assessment of your Bachelor of Computer Applications and your Master of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication.

With regards to both programs, it is IQAS’s policy that we do not assess distance education credentials from India which are completed at study centers outside the state of the awarding institution. As your Bachelor’s and your Master’s degrees program were completed at a learning center outside of the state of Sikkim we are unable to proceed with an assessment of both degrees.

Bro, I've already got my ECA successfully for SMU-DE in the month of September. The issue which you guys are facing, was there before when i applied for the assessment. So, I was quite clear how and what needs to be mentioned while filling out the application form. You yourself put into trouble by mentioning learning center address (which you should not be). It's a distance learning education and the IQAS team will see it a mismatch if it's not matching with university address.

The email which you received, I've seen them before too (when I was about to apply for ECA). So, I was pretty clear with the issue and made sure that I didn't do that while filling out the application form. It's always advisable to go through with the forum and experiences if any important factor needs to be considered.

See my answer below, this is how you should update in the application form in Educational History:

NAME OF INSTITUTION : SIKKIM MANIPAL UNIVERSITY
CURRENT INSTITUTION NAME: SHOULD BE BLANK
COUNTRY: INDIA
LANGUAGE OF INSTRUCTION: ENGLISH
ATTENDANCE DATES: MENTION AS PER YOUR START & END DATE
NAME OF CERTIFICATE/DIPLOMA/DEGREE: MASTER OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION (MBA)

I've copied it from my application form when I filled out. So, it was MBA and successfully evaluated by IQAS.

I think you were the last guy who got lucky,,,,..... cause after oct I haven't seen anyone getting positive eca for Smu from iqas.
