My application has reached iqas on 26th June. My passport was near expiry then (4th August), so by the time they open my application it would have. I had mailed them and they replied that it's okay to send such a passport and update with the reissued one once I get it. As per their website, even driver's licence is valid so I've sent that as well in addition to Aadhaar card. It might take at least 15 more days for my new passport to come.
Now, the catch is that I've changed my surname post marriage in my passport and Aadhaar card (please don't judge my timing, i had my reasons to not avoid it). I have the marriage certificate and affidavit for the same.
So shall I contact iqas now and tell them my case or shall I wait for them to ask me to send the new passport? I'm tempted to pray that they just accept the driver's licence, but would it be a good idea to wait?
