Hi,

I would like to invite my mother and my sister to visit me in Canada and also to attend my convocation ceremony.

Here is a brief family information:

My father passed away years ago.

My mom is retired. Both my mom and sister own their house.

My sister is a student in a top university in Iran.

I would like to know what are the chances they both get visas. Are their ties substantial enough?

Thanks.

You should provide all the documents in details to show strong ties back home like property papers, your mother pension records (if any) , bank account details, letter from local Bank there, letter from University that your sister is currently enrolled and how much education is left, her education transcripts showing scores, In case if she is married or engaged do provide that information as well. Also do provide a copy of tentative return ticket reservation which is normally valid for 48 hours once you make reservation online, you must show very good financial picture from both Canada and back home. You should send them your original official Convocation letter from uni , your ID documents . Also don't forget to include a notarized letter of invitation with all your information and their information , provide summary and reason of trip and a written promise statement from your end that they will leave Canada in XX many days .

Thanks for your reply.
I have recently moved to California and I have a plan to raise the chance of family reunion.
I am thinking of inviting just mom to the convocation ceremony in Canada. On the other hand, my sister applies for US visa. After my mom comes to Canada and attend my ceremony, she (my mom) applies for US visitor visa, I come back to the states and then we can all be together in the States.
Do you think this raises the chance of us reuniting? When my mom goes to the US consulate appointment, can the officer find out my sister has already a visa and be very difficult about my mom's case?
