Invite parent while on work permit

Hi,

I am new in the country and currently on work permit. Can I invite my parent temporarily?

I have tried to find information on cic website but most of the links are referring to sponsoring parents while on PR or Super VISA.

Could you help me to find more information?

They would need to apply for a visitor visa. I recommend asking for a 2-3 week visit.
