Hello everyone! I have a quick question for you all, I have my invitation letter ready for a friend of mine. Since she's doing the application online, is there a section during the application process that will ask for it in digital format? Or do I just send it to her via mail, signed and notarized? Or both? LOL I'm confused ;D

The applicant should upload a digital version of the invitation letter.

Notarization serves no purpose.

cic.gc.ca/english/visit/letter.asp

Write the letter, print and sign it, notarize the letter in Canada.
You can scan the notarized letter and email the PDF copy. She has to upload the PDF copy of the letter with her online application along with other necessary documents.

IMO ..Notarization is not really required. It might add more importance if you are not providing any of your other details (such as proof of your home address etc). I have invited my father with out any notarized letter. And notarization is not cheap.

The link provided makes it clear that only in the case the visa office requests a notarization then it should be done.

So unless the visa office explicitly requests it, do not waste time nor money.

Notarization serves no purpose.

I can get notarized a letter that says "I am the sole heir of a fortune of 10000000 dollars". Notarization establishes that the person saying something actually said it, but does not guarantee authenticity.
