Hi,

When i applied earlier for my Canada Visit visa, it was both for visiting canada and for having my H1 -B re validated at US consulate in Canada. So i have a Letter from US consulate stating my visa interview appointment date and time. So i believe that worked as invitation letter. (I got the Visa but never went to Canada as my marriage was fixed and changed my plans to get the visa revalidated in India instead of Canada)

Now i want to visit Canada again but i don't know anybody there who can give me a invitation letter.

I live in US and will go New york Canadian consulate for my Visa. My question is , Is Invitation letter is must for a Visit Visa application?

Regards

If you are coming for tourism purposes then you don't need an invitation letter.

@job_seeker

I Thank you for the reply.

Will they need my complete itinerary like on which date, where i am going to be, like that? Becoz i haven't planned my visit yet. It depends on the time off i get from my work. But i want to keep my Visa ready..

No, I don't think they would want that. You may want to prepare the documents needed for when you go to the Canadian Consulate.

I wonder. One indication that you won't overstay your visa seems to be that you have specific plans, specific reasons for visiting Canada. This need not be a definite itinerary, but miught be (e.g.) hike the Appalachian trail (is thre one? I am making this up.) between X and y. Somethig to show your touristic reason for coming.
