---
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is conducting and evaluation to better understand the experiences of newcomers to Canada in learning and using English and French. IRCC is looking for participants to help with this project.

Volunteers willing to participate in this project will have to be available two full days, one in March, and another in July. During both days, participants will be asked to complete tests to assess four English language competencies: listening, speaking, reading and writing.

The first testing date is Saturday March 9 2019, and the second testing date is Saturday July 27 2019. Volunteers must be available to attend both test sessions. Test will be held at the Toronto District School Board located at 1470 Don Mills Rd., 2nd floor, Toronto (ON), M3B 2X9. IRCC is working with the Centre for Canadian Language Benchmarks on this project and they are responsible for the test administration.

As a thank you, participants will receive a $50 Loblaws gift card for attending the first test on March 9th, and a $100 Loblaws gift card for attending the second test on July 27th.

Hi there,

Thanks, My wife also got this email to attend this training

Is it compulsory to attend. as they are event shows that they will test listening, reading writing and Speaking.

Actually my wife cleared the citizenship written test but didnt clear the speaking test ( i mean she got tensed and didnt communicate properly on that day)

I am scared if she get less in other tests (listening, writing and reading ) As citizenship requires only speaking

It’s for volunteers. Attending or not will have no impact on your Citizenship application. They want to pay people for qualitative research. I had my auto insurance offer me $75 card to attend a session for them in Mississauga between 9-7.

I ignored it, no way am I taking time off work to get a $75 voucher with a 100km round trip in there.

You won’t be paid to attend compulsory sessions!
