Intra company transfer questions

Hi guys,

I am in the US working for a company. The company is applying for an intra company transfer to Canada in September. I heard it takes 3-4 months to process the permit. I will be travelling to India this year in October for my wedding which takes place in November. My questions are
1. How flexible is getting a work permit to Canada under Intra company transfer category with an experience of 1 year?
2. Since I will be travelling, would it be possible for me to apply online from US and if they request for the passport I travel to india and and submit it to the embassy in India?
3. How long would it take for them to request for my passport?
4. When I apply online I will be single, but after the wedding I am planning to get my spouse to Canada. What do I do to get it done?
5. I heard getting a visa for the spouse is complicated? What route do you guys suggest? Visitor first or OWP first?

Please advise. Your suggestions are needed.

As you are a intra company transfer its a win win situation and the company will take care of most of the things.you will provided with closed work permit (means you can work only for that company)

2. Since I will be travelling, would it be possible for me to apply online from US and if they request for the passport I travel to india and and submit it to the embassy in India?
Most of the applications are done online

3. How long would it take for them to request for my passport?
Not sure you need to check the timeline

You can update your application once your marital status changes that should be an issue.

It wont be a issue your spouse will get dependent visa.Final call is yours either you bring her along with you or do the other way.

So you said it wouldn't be an issue to update my application once my marital status changes?
Also, would it be possible for me to apply online from USA and submit my passport in a Canada consulate in India?

Submitting the passport is the last step and happens at the end of the overall process....I dont see any reason why you cannot submit the passport while you are in India....

your spouse will get dependent visa along with your VISA. but you can always get OPEN work permit for the spouse.

So, irrespective of the location you apply, can the passport stamping be done in any place?
