Hello everyone,

I have been called for an interview in detroit this month.
I applied in August 2011.

I was working on an LMO when I applied, late october 2011 i was laid off temporarily.

Im currently looking for a job ( my LMO expires in November), will this affect my interview?
Should I be employed?? ???

Please advice,
Thank you.

I'm a little confused by "working on an LMO." An LMO does not give you authorization to work, only a work permit does.

Also - you say you were laid off temporarily in Oct 2011, did you resume working for the same employer, and when?

No, you do not have to be employed when you apply but you should have the required experience.

Being "currently employed" is not a requirement of CEC.

You ARE authorized to remain in Canada until the expiration of your work permit - leaving and re-entering Canadan, though, could be a little more tricky. It's possible you could face some inquiries about how you have been supporting yourself since last October. If you have been living off of savings and have a substantial bank balance to prove it, I would recommend carrying copies of recent bank statements (do not have to be Canadian banks).

And I think you will need to be more careful about what you say in your interview. If you were laid off in October 2011 and are still laid off, then I don't think you can call it "temporary" anymore, even if it started out that way.

As for the interview - if you have time, you should apply for your GCMS notes ...
