Hi.
Just went to take my citizenship test today at the St. Clair office. Got 20/20.
Unfortunately I wasn't prepared at all for the interview. I was thinking it was more for them to see if I can speak English and check the passport stamps. The officer went on to review my life since 2007 and I was struggling to come up with the dates for when I started a specific job or when I left it. She questioned where I got the money to start a business after finishing school. I have always either been studying or working, but not longer than one and a half year at the same job. Does that matter at all? I didn't lie, but I was feeling a little nervous.
There was an issue with the passports. I have two expired passports. One that was issued March 2009 and another that expired August 2009. She was thinking one was issued in August 2009 and the other expired March 2009, leaving a few months gap between both passports. It caught me totally off guard and after the avalanche of questions, I forgot to tell her she was looking at the wrong dates. I have easily over 1095 days in the last four years.
Is there a way to contact the officer again? Should I? I'm totally stressed out about the interview today. At the end, she just said the judge would make the final decision. Is that standard or would she give an OK at that time?
Thanks.
