I have sponsored my wife - first stage approval went without a hitch. Now a few more months down the road and I have just received her documents back from Singapore visa office - along with a couple extra documents inside.
What throws me off here is....
The first page when you open it up is an 'Information Sheet' which goes a little like this...
The following provides additional information concerning the processing of your application for permanent residence in Canada.
Medical Examinations: If your receive medical forms at the time of your interview, you will have two month in which to complete your medical examinations.
If you have dependents who are studying/living abroad you should forward their medical instructions directly to them.
If your application for permanent residence is approved your permanent residents visa will normally be valid for presentation on entry to Canada for one year from the date of your medical examination.
When will I receive my Permanent Resident Visa? If you are successful we will contact you approximately 2 month after you and your dependents have successfully complete your medical examinations to arrange for visa issuance.
Sooo... this would almost leave one to believe that an interview is required, and that the medical examination forms have not been properly received by the visa office. Yet, under the 'check application status' feature on the official Canada Immigration site - it says 'In Process - Medicals Received'.
The other documents I received also go on to say that I need to send in her passport with 4 additional photos (She wrote her name on the back of EACH photo.. my bad )
And the most reassuring document says...
Dear Applicant,
This refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada.
We are ready to issue your immigration visa(s). However , in order to complete this process, we need your passport(s) and some additional information as described below:
And it goes on to explain everything they need to be sent to issue the Permanent Residence, including the form Appendix A...
Sorry for going on and on here - truly trying to capture why I'm a little confused by this one... The Canadian Call Center Agent couldn't even give me an answer on this one.
A friend of mine who has done the exact same process, with the exact same countries involved - never received the 'Information Sheet'.
Thanks to all for your time - I know it's a long one!!
Sincerely,
James Wilder
