hi everyone so heres some info on my case

app submitted : oct 27 2012

approved sponsor: november 25th 2012

file transferred to bogota office : december 12 2012

additional evidence sent january 28th 2013

request for interview : may 12 2013

interview date : may 23 2013

my application was sent with everything! they have not asked for any kind of paperwork, the interview papers says "for your application for permanent residence to be finalized and in person interview will be required" and then it just says to bring any additional evidence which i already have ready

i dated my husband for a year and a half before we got married, my family was filling for a refugee claim at the time in canada it was denied and i left canada within the time allowed.

does anyone have some kind of experience with the interviews, any tips? or anyone that has been in the bogota office lately that can be of some help.

anything will be greatly appreciated

Having just gone through an interview with my husband I advise you to remain calm and confident in your relationship. They can ask anything, and there must be something that raised a red flag regarding your relationship. If you know what it is, then your ahead of the game. If you don't then just prepare what information you have about your relationship. The list of questions is helpful. But remember to just be honest and portray your relationship for what it is.

Best of luck

Red flag is likely the failed refugee claim. They will want to ensure she has married into a genuine relationship and not just to get status in Canada.

I will ask someone to look at your thread that might have some advice.

In addition to the questions, I would also bring proof of the continuing relationship since the application was filled.

I dont have too much info about the actual interview, we were never asked for one.

But we did apply as common-law and my husband was also a failed refugee, so we were told we needed to include a ton of evidence to prove that it was a real relationship, rather than just for immigration purposes.

I can send you a list of everything we included as evidence, it might give you an idea of what kind of things you could bring to the interview for extra evidence.

Also do you have all the paperwork from your refugee case? its very good to have this, because they will most likely ask you for documents regarding why your family was denied.

When my husband was asked for his ARC (authorization to return to canada) his visa office (mexico) asked him for his reasons and decisions for refusal, the big written document they mail you, its like 15 pages long or something.

But i will send you our list of evidence in a personal message. Im assuming it was sufficient because we were never asked for extra evidence and our interview was waived :)
