Interview for super visa extensions

hello
I applied for extension of super visa for my mother and father in law. I received a email saying that they need to appear for interview in local immigration office with their passports, medical insurance and bank statements. Can anyone help that what we expect in interview. And they said interpreter can not be family member, so do I have to pay to professional interpreter or some friend can help.

Normally, interviews are not requested for super visa extensions.

When did your in-laws arrive + how long did they request an extension + reasons for wanting to extend their stay?

They have already used their 2 years stay and then I apply for extension as my wife is expecting a baby in December this year. We ask for 6 months

This was not a good idea. Hope IRCC does not believe that they are working illegally as visitors.

They must take the documents requested by IRCC + your bank statements + evidence to prove they have a good financial situation in their home country + evidence why they need to return to their home country after 6 months.

IMO, they might have to answer questions about working illegally and typically how they have been spending their time each day. Just a thought.

We ask for 6 months

Normally, an extension of up to one year is allowed for super visas entries
