Hello guys,
I am starting this thread to ask your opinion on my case and useful experiences. I and my wife are grad students in Canada and applied for FSW in NS early 2011 (around March 2011). In that time we were common in law partner since we lived together for more than a year and eligible for common- in law application. (we have proof of living together).
When we got the OK from NS to send the application to Buffalo, we got married here in Canada and sent our application to Buffalo as man and wife instead of common in law partner. In August 2010 we got married and sent our complete application to Buffalo. After few months we got file number and then did not hear from them until recently they asked for an interview.
I am wondering what is wrong in our application that they asked for interview? Usually students in Canada who have the enough points get their PR without an interview. I have not seen a case like ourself. Do you think it is because of our changed common-in law to married?
Also, if we pass interview, do we get the landing visa soon? When is medical usually after interview or before?
Thanks for your time
Cheers,
