Internship under valid Work Permit (Young professional) eligible as Canadian work experience?

Hi all,

I am an Irish citizen and between 2013 and 2017 I was enrolled as a student at an Irish university. During my 3rd Year I undertook an internship in Canada which was paid and under the Young Professional Work Permit ( not a study permit!). My job title on the permit was "Software Engineer".

My question is, does this count as valid work experience in Canada for EE even though I was a student in Ireland?
