Hi everyone,

Newbie here! I've started working as a Social Media & Communications Intern within my Co-op. After finishing 4 months of internship, I've graduated but my company offered me an extension for my current role. And I've worked another 4 months after graduation. The role is full-time, paid and qualified. My questions are:

1) Does my internship count as work experience (after graduation) and when submitting my documents should I replace the word: "intern" with something else or is it okay to keep it as it is?
2) If I get promoted or move to a different role/company before completing my 1 year work experience, can I still combine different experiences if they add up to a year or should I complete 1 year at the same role & company to create my IRCC profile?

Thank you!

Your co-op won't count unfortunately because technically you were still a full-time enrolled student. Any work experience gained while you were a full-time student won't count! Here's the attached link to the IRCC link : https://www.ircc.canada.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=394&top=29

hi Hyper, yes but after 4 months I was graduated. My question is if I work as an intern after my graduation (not during my studies), does it count?

no, after finishing my studies I was eligible for 1 year PGWP, but they've started a special work permit program for Turkish citizens which was an open work permit for 3 years, and I applied to that one. So I worked as an intern for 4 months under my open work permit.
