Hello guys,

I'm an international student studying in Canada.

I recently got my study permit extension and applied for TRV since I will be traveling to India for a while.

When I got my passport back in the mail, during opening the envelope I accidentally tore off TRV page of passport in half.

What should be done now?

You can get emergency passport/ Tatkal at nearest Consulate of India in Canada ( Toronto , Ottawa Vancouver ) within few hours . Please talk to BLS vendors regarding the procedure. If I am not incorrect , You need to reach with print out of your online passport application form with current proof of address and any Indian address proof along with your Canadian status ( permits / TRV ) proof . Also, Do check the consulate website nearest to you . About 302 CAD is charged.

Thereafter immediately again go through the link http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=045&top=12 and apply for a replacement of damaged TRV . It costs about 30 CAD . It will take about 1 month .
I would personally not advise you to go out of Canada during this period..
