International student starting online business

If I am under a study permit with valid SIN and work permit, will I be allowed to start an online business? I am and will remain as a student throughout the period (entering 3rd year this fall).
If allowed, do I need to register for a business number? Thank you!

I don't know about the part whether you are allowed to be self employed with work permit but I know you won't be able to register business number. You need to be permanent resident or Canadian citizen to do so
