International student in canada and business

Hi,

I am an international student at york u.

last year I obtained an offcampus work permit, and started running a homebusiness. Initially sales were quite low, but now I am making 30k+ net profit per year now. Does anyone know whether I'm doing something illegal?
There's no way I prove i only worked 20 hours a week as required by offcampus work permit, because I am self employed.

Can I show this to ask for permanent residency?

Self employed doesn't count for CEC applications.

I have heard that if you make a case for your self you can get PR, even if you dont meet the laid down conditions.

I am making 30k while at school, with the potential to make more if I do this full time. I am paying taxes on this amount legally.

What you heard and what CIC says are the rules are usually entirely different.

this is just wonderful. i am not blaming anyone
canada lets in thousands of PRs who end up on welfare and a person who is entrepreneurial AND has proven he can make money is left out
