Dear All,

I would need your help to clarify some doubts. My husband to be was accepted for post-graduate studies and I would like to move to Canada with him. But we do not have much time left to organize the wedding and do all the administrative duties (I have to mention here that we are not coming form the same country so getting married in my/his home country would take time).
My idea would be to go to Canada and get married there. It would be easier because after we shouldn't bother with translation etc. Do you think it's possible? To go to Canada as two single and get married there and once I have the marriage certificate I can apply for an open work permit.
My fiancé would have his student visa and I can enter Canada with an eTA.

I also would have another question. Can I apply for the open work permit outside of Canada? My idea would be to work in my home country until I got the permit because I'm not the "sitting at home doing nothing" type of girl.

Thank you for all the help in advance!!!

Assuming your husband is not a Canadian citizen and not a Canadian PR, you should be posting your question to the Foreign Workers or International Students section of the forum.
