I was nominated by SINP under International Student Stream, after getting P.R i did a port entry to apply for pr card, Immigration Officer told me first You can live and work anywhere in Canada ,But he also said As a part of SINP Program , i have to be in Saskatchewan for Next 3 more years,
My Case is I already lived and work in Saskatchewan since 1.5 year under my Open Work Permit after that I got P.R. It is not case like I got PNP immigrant from outside Canada(my back home) .

my question is even after getting PR still I have to be in same province, I need to move to other province for further study or better jobs opportunity.

Some of my Friends has same case like me and when they did port of entry , Immigration Officer only said You can live and work anywhere in Canada.

So Please reply me Can i move to another Province after one month of my Port Entry????/

Thanks ...

Sometimes immigration officers will tell people that because of PNP, they must stay for 3 years. I am not sure where that comes from. Last time I looked at the application forms, there was no mention of 3 years anywhere. You just sign that you must intend to settle in the province unless you are aware of signing something that stated 3 years on it?

It is only a couple of years ago that immigration started to go after people who land outside their PNP province and have no intention of settling there. As far as I know, they are not yet going after people who land in their PNP province but leave shortly afterwards. Nobody can tell you if that will happen in the future. In order to protect yourself from possible future inquiries, you should stay in SK at least long enough that you can say that you really intended to settle in SK when you landed but that the situation changed later on. It is up to you how long that should be. In my opinion, the situation changing so much that you move a month after your PR is a bit too short. It would look like you were already planning to move when you landed.

@Leon.... I've not sign any document that showed i hv to live in sk for next 3 years. One of my friend inquired in cic agent he told you can work and live anywhere in Canada ,But he also said the obligation for live in sk for next 3 years for those who nominated and came outside Canada as pnp immigrant.

Does anyone came across the case who got PR as province nominee within Canada and move to another province within few months And got any trouble to Renewals of P.R???????

Please reply me any information that related on it..... OR ..... Any Advice.....

Thanks a lot......

Like I said, as far as I know, they aren't going after people who move shortly after getting PR but they might in the future. I have only heard one case that a PNP wanted to revoke a persons PR because they were sponsored under family stream and their sponsor had moved outside the province but I don't know what happened with that case.

I think a person would be able to fight it with appeals if it happened because they did not sign anything stating that they whould stay for a certain amount of time.

However, if somebody lands as a PNP nominee, you could say that they are reaffirming that they are intending to settle in that province. We know that if they were to say during their landing that they do not intend to settle in their PNP province that they would not be given their PR. Therefore, if a person would land as a PNP nominee and not say that they are planning on settling elsewhere but obviously were planning to, proven by the fact that they leave the province very shortly after their landing, they could be accused of misrepresentation during their landing. Misrepresentation is serious business and can cause you to lose your PR so just make sure you stay for a few months at least to show good intentions.
