Hello

Few days ago I wrote about my girlfriend visiting me here and the possible way for her to stay with me during my study here. Till I finish my school and be able to able for the PR. It turns out that marriage is the only option for us.

After searching and asking I knew that if we are married she can join me and get an open work permit

What I need to know now is.... In few months she will be here as a visitor and then we are going to get married during her visit.

I want to know what is the process after getting married? What do I need to do after we get married?

Thank you

Once she's in Canada and you're married, she applies for the work permit using the form here:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/extend-worker.asp

Under Q10, she should include your client ID number (on your study permit, format 0000-0000) and explain that she is requesting an open work permit accompanying you while you study. The end date for her request should match the end date on your study permit.
