Hi all,
I already have got a work permit under International Experience Class-Working Holiday. I have not activated that yet (received it in October 2016, so can activate it anytime till October 2017).
I am living in Canada as a temporary worker and my current work permit expires in December (in few weeks).
I have received ITA to apply for PR, too. I am submitting my PR application in few weeks.
Now to stay in Canada and be able to work my options are:
1) flagpole and activate my working holiday permit.
2) Leave Canada and re-enter using my Visa exempt passport, as a visitor.
3) Apply for a Bridge Open Work Permit, as I am invited for PR.
I am trying to figure out which one is a better option (and financially doesn't cost too much).
I know that I need to prove that I have health insurance when I try to activate the working holiday permit, with an officer on the border.
My question is how much such a health insurance is going to cost me?
What insurance do people usually buy for this purpose.
As my current Work Permit expires in few weeks, would that be fine if I apply for a Bridge Open Work Permit and I don't receive it before my current permit expires? What will be my status after my permit expires and before my Bridge permit application gets approved? Is it legal to stay in Canada in that situation?
I appreciate any help or experience shared.
