I want to apply for the Immigration through Express Entry for Canada. I am an Indian national and have a Master's degree from IIT Gandhinagar. I have taken the IELTS (L|R|W|S - 7.5|7|6.5|7) and according to the Canadian Federal Skilled Points Calculator, I have 68 points which I believe is sufficient for the Express Entry Application.

For that I need to have my Educational history assessed with one of the following:
  1. Comparative Education Service – University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies
  2. International Credential Assessment Service of Canada
  3. World Education Services
  4. International Qualifications Assessment Service
  5. International Credential Evaluation Service
Out of which I am going with ICAS (intuitively).

In the ICAS application, I have the question in Step 3- Educational History. It asks for educational history since primary school. I am not sure which age/school is it referring to? Is it asking about the 10th class? or prior to that.

Is there any documentation on what exactly the Primary, Secondary, Postsecondary, and Other means?

PS:- I am open to other suggestions as well.

Secondary is 12th grade, Post-secondary is after 12th grade.

You should contemplate giving IELTS again. Practically, you need a CLB9 or above to be able to get sufficient CRS. Becoming eligible is one thing, getting enough CRS to qualify for an ITA is another.

Calculate your CRS here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp. Last draw was at 475. You need at least a 455 to qualify for an ITA, within a month or two or three.

According to the above CRS, my score is very low (403) as I don't have a Canadian job offer, a blood relation/spouse and a Canadian work experience. Does that mean there is no chance?

If so, then how the paid consultancies migrate people on lower IELTS scores? Any Idea?

You have a low CRS due to low IELTS score. If you are able to score 8 in Listening and 7 in rest, your CRS will shoot up.

With a CRS of 403, you have no chance of getting an ITA without opting for PNP. Getting a PNP nomination (Provincial Nomination Program) will fetch you extra 600 points, totalling your points to 1003, which is basically a guaranteed ITA.

Paid consultancies mostly help you in getting PNP's, so that you are able to get additional 600 points and secure an ITA.

With a master's degree, you can easily get a CRS above 450 if you are able to get at least CLB9 in IELTS.
