Hello everyone, hope you're all doing well.
I have a complicated issue and I was hoping someone can assist me in the right direction. I'll provide the timeline here
I got an admission letter early in 2021.
In September 2021, I moved to Canada. I am allowed to work 20 hours off-campus and no limit on-campus as per my study permit rules.
As part of my program requirement, I was supposed to do a Co-Op from May 2022 to December 2022.
So in February 2022, I applied for a Co Op Permit.
I joined a company in May to fulfil the program requirements
In June 2022, I worked over 20 hours off-campus for 4 weeks (43 hours unauthorized)
In August 2022, I received my Co-Op Work Permit.
Unfortunately only in November was the 20 hour per week rule removed.
In December 2022, I received letter of final grades and completion and on the same day, I applied for PGWP.
In the IMM form for PGWP application, I answered "Yes" to doing unauthorized work.
I consulted a legal firm and then submitted my application with a letter of explanation and supporting documents.
I have received the Confirmation of Online Application Transmission and Submission Confirmation.
I haven't received the Interim Work Authorization Letter that says that I am allowed to work and the duration of work.
My lawyer told me that I should not work and in the letter of explanation, I placed in a request for Interim Work Authorization while apologizing for my actions.
On Jan 7th I raised a web form and today, I contacted the IRCC client support center who told me that I can work since I'm under maintained status.
However my university is telling me that I should not work incase the interim work authorization decision has rejected.
I'm really confused right now. I hope anyone with expertise could lead me to the right direction.
