I am on my 6th year of H1b in US, ending on Aug 7th and I am awaiting my PERM (labor) process to approve any time now. Just in case the PERM is not approved by Aug 7th, as a backup I need to recapture 15 days (by going outside of US) in order to extend my H1b for one year. To do this I am planning to visit Canada for 15 days and do AVR.
I can submit the following items to prove my intention to return US:
1. Valid US work status till Aug 7th
2. PERM application with DOL and intent to extend my H1b beyond Aug 7th
3. Job and salary info
4. Previous visit to Canada in 2010 (clean record)
5. Financial docs to support 15 days visit (flight, hotel and living costs)
I don't have any relative there to give me an invitation letter.
Given the above info does I have the following questions:
1. Is it safe to mention AVR as my intention to visit Canada while applying for a visitor visa? If not then any other suggestions?
2. Since I don't have an invitation letter to visit Canada, can I attach a letter saying that I don't have any relative to give the letter?
2. Anyone sees a concern as to why the visa could be rejected? and
3. Is there anything else I should mention while applying so as to make my case strong for an approval?
Appreciate in advance for your help guys!
