So currently I have 15400 in my account, and I listed my family has 2 members, me and my pr common-law partner. so base on CIC requirement I need 15100 to support both me and my partner. However, now I have to go back to my country to get the Police certificate and upon paying the airplane ticket, I am at 14200 which is no longer enough.

So what are my options here ? My bank statement cant be 1 month old, and if i get my statement 1 month later i do not have enough. I can have my partner deposit 1000 into my account to make it emough, but would that be suspicious ? It s not borrowing as we shares all of our expenses.

Help please. Currently in a panic mode right now. Thanks

Can your partner buy the plane tickets instead of withdrawing and depositing to your account?

Yes, your partner can deposit you that amount.

Get proof of transfer as well as a self-declaration from your partner that this money is a gift (not a loan).

Was thinking of that but his account is purely chequeing and he has no credit card to make the purchase online

Thanks. I am assuming that proof of transfer can be gotten from the bank and require a bank stamp ?

Is there a certain format for the self-declare form ? like what need to be on it ?

Thanks a ton

You can look for a format of a "gift deed letter" on this forum.

Thanks !! Would it be safer for me to include my partner's bank statement as well just as a precaution ?

Yes, that would be the safest option.

This is the closest form of Gift deed I can find on the forum :

GIFT DEED
I, _________________ (name of donor), S/o _________________ (father’s name), R/o _____________________ (address), do hereby on dated __________ make a gift-deed for a gift made on dated of ___________, Rs. ______/- (Rupees in word) out of love and affection to my ____________ (mention the relationship & name of receiver), S/o or W/o _______________, R/o _________________________. I confirm that I am a resident Indian. I, further confirm that this gift is being made out of my own funds standing to the credit of my A/c No.- __________ in
____________(mention the Bank name & address).
I, further confirm that the consideration for this gift is the love and affection for my ____________________ (mention the relationship & name of receiver) and no other consideration.

I further confirm that the gift has been made by Cheque No ___________ dated _______ drawn on ___________________________ (mention the Bank name & address). This gift is irrevocable and I have no claim left whatsoever on the said gifted amount and he/she is free to utilise it in any manner.

PLACE:
DATED: _______________________
(Donor name)

Witness:
The gift as stated above is accepted

Okay, so I am a bit confused. Is it not ok to show partner's bank statement as a POF, as long as they are a co-applicant, and gives a statement saying that the funds are for PR purpose? I think that is much simpler than getting a gift deed done.

That person most likely included a witness as he probably notarized the letter (but a self-declaration is sufficient).

If you're talking about a joint bank account then yes, such statement (No Objection Certificate) does suffice.

If the funds belong to him and you're the primary applicant then IMO the funds should be in your account.

I believe the requirement did say that you are only able to show account under your name as main proof of fund.

So just to sum things up to make sure I get this correctly, what I need is:
1. a plain paper gift deed letter that is signed by my partner (no notarized or witness needed)
2. Proof of transfer from the bank (if he is doing e-transfer, what kind of proof can he provide ?)
3. A bank statement and 6 month balance average from my partner's bank account (just to be on the safe side)

Thanks

I believe there's a way out in that case. Here is a person who was able to get around this successfully : http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/does-cic-accept-proof-of-funds-on-spouse-name-t409757.0.html;msg5123474#msg5123474
