Hi all,

I am an Instrumentation Engineer ( process ),will be landing in Toronto by mid of April,if GOD is willing,I will be looking for a job in my field,I would accept an entry level if it requires to find a job as I cant stay unemployed ......so I would appreciate if anyone share the knowledge and exeperience where to find jobs in my related field....and how to overcome the canadian experience issue that faces all newcomers .

I need your help. I am instrumentation design engineer working in EPC US company Jacobs Engineering. I have entire experience in detailed engineering.

What job responsibilities instrumentation engineer can put in employer reference letter as all duties mentioned in electrical & electronics category (NOC2133) are related to electrical & electronics engineering like below:-

Electrical and electronics engineers perform some or all of the following duties:
Conduct research into the feasibility, design, operation and performance of electrical generation and distribution networks, electrical machinery and components and electronic communications, instrumentation and control systems, equipment, and components
Prepare material cost and timing estimates, reports and design specifications for electrical and electronic systems and equipment
Design electrical and electronic circuits, components, systems and equipment
Supervise and inspect the installation, modification, testing and operation of electrical and electronic systems and equipment
Develop maintenance and operating standards for electrical and electronic systems and equipment
Investigate electrical or electronic failures
Prepare contract documents and evaluate tenders for construction or maintenance
Supervise technicians, technologists, programmers, analysts and other engineers.
Electrical and electronics engineers may specialize in a number of areas including electrical design for residential, commercial or industrial installations, electrical power generation and transmission, and instrumentation and control systems.


But my actual job responsibilities are like

1) Preparation of Instrument Design Basis.
2) Preparation of Instrument Index.
3) Preparation of data sheets.
4) Control valve & orifice sizing calculations.
5) Preparation of Material Requisitions.
6) Technical Bid Evaluation.
7) Work –hour estimation & Cost estimation for project, Preparation of progress report, Co-ordination with other disciplines, internal team & client.
8) Worked as a sub-lead engineer
9) Planning & scheduling of entire boiler project & BOP in MS Project.
10) Listing of various risks & opportunities.
11) Project Co-ordination with internal team of engineering, procurement & construction as well as with customer.
12) Preparation of monthly progress report.
13) Periodic cost review for cost over runs/ savings.
14) Handling commercial as well as logistics issues
15)Cable Route index.
16)Instrument Location Layout.
17)Termination diagrams in Intools-Wiring Module.
18)Preparation of Junction Box Schedule.
19)Preparation of Cable Schedule

How I can match these job responsibilities with NOC2133 job duties mentioned above? Can you guide me?
