Hi all,

I applied for PR under common-law partner class in January 2014. No progress so far. So I applied for a post degree diploma program starting January 2015. Now I have a visitor record that expires December 31st 2014.

Since I am going back to my home country for a month, i will apply study permit online to Manila office in Philippines. I hope to get approval before i come back to Canada. Anybody has same experiences? I am anxious about rejection or being denied at the port of entry. If I am denied re-entering, my PR application will be cancelled.... I appreciate helpful advices!!

If you applied for PR using the inland (within Canada) process, then you should not be leaving Canada until your application has been approved. Having a visitor record doesn't mean you'll be allowed to re-enter Canada. If you did in fact apply inland and are refused re-entry into Canada, this will cancel your inland application.

Thank you for your advice. I had done it before returning to Canada with my Visitor Record while PR processing, even though I am still a little bit nervous. Also, one of CBSA agents told me that it would be okay to travel back home as long as I keep my status in Canada. I just want to know how study permit would work in my case....
