inserting progress report automatically?

Some people add a short progress report at the bottom of their messages. You know what I mean:

Sent application 5 oct 09
Received by Mississauga 6 Oct 09
Received letter of approval 10 Oct 09 (ya right!!)
Etc.

Is there a procedure to make it automatic, or does the writer type the progress report each time?

it's a profile signature... here's how you do it!
up there... in the top right had of this page, click on profile.
then, forum profile information... scroll down to signature. you can put your time line in there!
