Hi all! Just have inquiry..
Already have my AOR. Husband under spousal open work permit. Daughter has tourist visa (5 years old). Our work permit expires april 2014.
Questions:
1. Can i get a low skilled job now like cashier or food counter attendant (can't stand my current employer)?
2. If so, will my husband and daughter go back to my country of origin or they can stay until their visas expire on april 2014?
3. Can i have another option which is to resign and just stay at home, take care of my daughter, wait for the cec application (since my husband has open work permit).

Thanks in advance!

You did not say what type of work permit you have, so it's hard to answer. If you have a closed TWP, you cannot change employers without a new LMO and a new work permit. But you can stay and look for a new employer as long as your current work permit is valid.

Since you have your AOR, you would be eligibile to apply for a bridging open work permit when you have 4 months or less remaining on your current work permit (January-April 2014).

You can quit your job and your family remain in Canada for the duration of your work permit (however, you cannot work without a new work permit). Your husband's SOWP will remain valid as long as you remain in Canada.

3. Can i have another option which is to resign and just stay at home, take care of my daughter, wait for the cec application (since my husband has open work permit).

You are permitted to do this, but only you know if that's an option for you.
