Hello all,
Here is the background to the question.
My family has become PRs in march 2016. We have been living in Canada since 2012. I was a student and then a temporary worker before becoming a PR. At the same time, my wife had an open work permit while I studied. Here is the thing: After my wife's open work permit expired (the one she got because I was a student) we applied for a visitors record which she was granted. However, we do not possess any records of the specific date that she got approved for this. Our document was taken away from us when we did our landing back in 2016. As you know, to apply for citizenship, the physical presence calculator demands that we enter the precise date of her becoming a visitor in Canada. What can I do about this? Would it suffice to enter an approximate date? Would they be able to help at the call centre? Would they even care about this? She did not leave Canada, just changed status from worker to visitor. Another thing I am thinking is that we might just wait until march next year so we don't need to report time before being a PR. Please advise, thanks in advance.
